From 13May-2June Gwendolyn’s artist residency titled ‘Transcendence’ will bring live art, music & dance to the street in Shoreditch, just as London is opening up...


On Thursday afternoons she will create art in a live performance together with live music or dance in this 65cm narrow shopfront space.

Revealing the creative happenings which took place behind closed doors during lockdown, now opening up to the street for everyone to see. Passers-by can watch the art unfold right in front of their eyes.

Between performances Gwendolyn’s live-art will be exhibited alongside unseen studies and sketchbooks providing a rare peak into this artist’s practice.

Art Exhibition in shop window

* Thursday 13 May 3-4pm
Live-art in collaboration with Spherical Improv, a group of well-known London jazz and improv musicians, the uplifting lockdown initiative by musician/composer Loz Speyer. The musicians’ live improvised music will beam into the shopwindow via zoom.

Line up: Steve Beresford, Olie Brice, Dee Byrne & Loz Speyer.

* Thursday 20 May 3-4pm
The duo behind the nearby 6x4m mural, Gwendolyn & dancer Petra Haller, will return to push the boundaries of live performance in this 65cm narrow space. Gwendolyn will create live-art while Petra will dance defying the insane spatial limits. Watch this space…

* Thursday 27 May 3-4pm
The finale with all three art forms coming together. An extended line-up of Spherical Improv musicians will improvise beaming in via zoom, Petra will dance in this challenging space while Gwendolyn will create bold and vibrant visual art.
