A unique, powerful and moving performance reflecting the flight from oppression to personal liberation. Artist Gwendolyn Kassenaar will create a huge 6x3m painting in a live improvised performance with contemporary dancer Petra Haller for the opening Saturday of Bloomsbury Festival 2022. Watch the dance while witnessing a unique artwork unfold in front of your eyes. This year festival’s theme ‘Breath’ as metaphor for the unshackling of societal and cultural suffocation will be the narrative of this painting. Titled “A Trajectory to Unsuffocation’, it will depict the universally human story of personal liberation, being true to yourself and daring to live it regardless of expectations and judgements of others. From trodden-down figure to full spiritual awakening. Embracing life! This performance will be a bold and innovative portrayal of finding spirituality and finding oneself. An innovative interdisciplinary collaboration between Visual Art & Dance.
